06/21 - Happy Birthday!

For the first time in 22 years, my twin and I are apart for our birthdays. I knew it was an inevitability after we were married, or if we were living in different states, but I didn't think it would come as such a surprise.

I was planning this super awesome surprise party for her, but apparently Ivan dragged her off to Cabo San Lucas. Must have been quick and all since she forgot her meds, but I totally Fed-Exed them to her.

Enough about that though. There's just a little bit left before my birthday is officially over and I want to keep up with the happy thoughts.

Liiiiiiike…

The happy thought that I have the best fiance on the planet, who sees how much hard work I'm putting into the wedding and got me a thoughtful and practical gift — a pass to a day spa that I can use for a little R&R before the wedding. And he had Serenity bring it to me in her mouth. The card was a bit soggy, but sweet all the same!

Even Bobby's sister was nice and bought me a new cross-pendant for my birthday. Silver, all comprised of little hearts with my birthstone in the center.

But the best gift? My friends threw me a quick party at the Holy Water, down in the Cellar. It was pretty awesome. Great company, a wicked cake made of a slab of chocolate, with a bunch of red velvet cupcakes atop it in a heart pattern. <3

To top it all off, Mr. Wright came. I can't believe that he actually came to my party. It was a shock, but a happy one. He bought me a pretty stationary set, which I'm going to put to good use right now to send him a nice thank-you letter.

I can't believe that such a selfless, upstanding man in the community would be willing to take time out of his busy life just to drop by for a cupcake! What's even more awesome was that he offered to send Bobby and myself to Cabo if Faith doesn't come home soon. Just so we can celebrate our birthdays together, even if it is a few days late.

I won't take him up on the offer. I'm sure Faith'll be home soon. She wouldn't leave forever without telling me, even if we were in the middle of a fight.

I hope, wherever you are sister dear, that your birthday has been even remotely as wonderful as mine has been.
